science is not geeky.
finally gotten down to putting some of my ideas on virtual canvas, now that i have some energy to summon after all the revision...
has it ever occurred to you why people (generally) think that scientists are geeks (maybe it's not just the professional scientists, but the science students as well. sigh...)? people seem to view 'coolness' in terms of the subjects you take and your passions and interests. you take literature and econs? "man, you have a bright future ahead, and omg, you are so damn interesting!" tell people that you offer chem and math, and they rattle on about how nerdy you are.
i mean, being a science student/scientist doesn't make you any less capable of appreciating life. people around me who are competent in the sciences and mathematics have diverse interests in music, movies, food (that's me!), games (dota, halo, gta etc.), art and more! just because we handle things in symbols and numbers, doesn't mean that we cannot handle picasso and hitler.
all the misconceptions of the world. sigh.
