imcb rop
the past 3 days have been a nice sabbatical from school, although most of those who have participated would have known it to be more of a process of waiting, rather than doing real work. besides, i learnt more at imcb, than from you-know-who h3 lecturer!
at imcb, i was reminded of that similar workshop in 04 (remember, ys? >.< nostalgia...) when i first met people like ys, sarah and ccb. i was such an impressionable chinese high kid, impressed by all those gadgets and advanced equipment. it was a whole load of fun, because i not only had the chance to acquire skills necessary for research (i guess, that was the starting point for my interest in biological research), but also the opportunity to meet new people, beyond proed and tchs.
this time round, though we were the oldest kids on the block, it was pretty much the same experience. but this time, we got to see some pretty amusing people. there were two gals who defaced the logbook. anyone in the research field also knows that that is almost unpardonable? haha but she got away by packing pipette tips into the boxes... thing is, there were about 10 boxes (correct me, if i'm wrong), so kh, a vs guy and i helped them. when the course ended, they gave us an nydc cookie each, as well as skittles. kh and i were, like, omg, they actually bought something... i felt pretty remorseful cos i called one of them a bimbo (who would say something like, "translation? in the math sense?" during a PROTEIN crystallography workshop! lol!)... but i was also touched by that little gesture, by a stranger who appreciated our help.
所谓:礼多人不怪...
this world could be brightened up by a little word of appreciation.
anyway, here's something from c&c3! hot stuff :D
